Birth of a Liner – talk and film screening

Back by popular demand! Rare footage of Beardmore’s great Dalmuir shipyard shot in 1928 of the Canadian Pacific liner Duchess of Atholl under construction. This film will be shown in the Fairfield Boardroom. Maritime historian Ian Johnston will give an introduction to Wm Beardmore & Co Ltd.

Between the mid-nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the heyday of shipbuilding on the Clyde, Govan was at the centre of the industry.

Whatever your age or experience we can offer a range of learning opportunities. From education groups to community visits.
